Clarence House has confirmed that Prince Charles has tested positive for the virus and is now self-isolating along with the Duchess of Cornwall at home. The tests were confirmed by the NHS in Aberdeenshire, and it is impossible to know where Prince Charles became infected as he has met with many people in the past few weeks with his public duties.
He is currently only displaying mild symptoms and will self-isolate for at least 14 days while carrying remotely. The Royal Family has split up in the past few weeks, possibly as a deliberate strategy to avoid the entire family being sick with coronavirus at the same time. The Queen is at Windsor Castle, while Prince William and Kate are in Norfolk.
Prince Charles met with Monaco’s Prince Albert two weeks ago at an event in London, and it is possible he contracted the virus at this time. Since that time, he was at Buckingham Palace on March 12th, which raises concern for the Queen and Prince Phillip who may have come into contact with people who contracted the virus from Prince Charles.
In recent weeks Prince Charles has been making public appearances but has avoided handshakes, but unfortunately this was not enough to avoid contracting the virus. Thankfully, Prince Charles’ case appears to be mild as he is up and active during the day and his doctors say it is unlikely his case will become more serious.
